Bengaluru-based start-up CEO Suchana Seth, arrested for the alleged murder of her four-year-old son in a Goa hotel, did not have an office in India’s Silicon Valley, police found out when they investigated, Indian Express reported.
Investigating authorities discovered discrepancies in her business address, and found only a co-working space instead of a dedicated office for her company, The Mindful AI Lab.
The accused is also director of another machine intelligence firm registered in September 2020. Goa Police also visited the office of this secondary firm.
Seth's previous residence in Bengaluru's Thanisandra area, where she lived with her son, was found abandoned during a police visit. Neighbours expressed surprise, stating that she vacated the premises approximately four months ago.
The Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society, a renowned research center at Harvard University, describes her as an "AI ethics expert and a data scientist" who has contributed significantly to the field.
Despite being listed as a research fellow at the Raman Research Institute from 2008-2011, sources within the institute told Express she dropped out in 2010.
Her estranged husband, Venkat Raman, reportedly in Indonesia at the time of the alleged murder of his son, rushed back to Bengaluru for his son's post-mortem.
Suchana Seth, 39, allegedly smothered her son to death and then travelled with his body from Goa to Bengaluru before blood trails in her hotel room alarmed staff who alerted officials about her.
She reportedly also tried to die by suicide after the act and claimed the blood in the room was hers.
